Charlotte Deaf Mission
Church Covenant

We believe we have been led by the Holy Spirit to repent and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and to surrender our lives to Him and having been baptized upon our profession of faith, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, we now, relying on His gracious help, seriously and joyfully renew our covenant with each other:

• We will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit in the union of peace.

• We will live daily in brotherly love, as is proper for the members of a Christian church, have loving care and watchfulness over each other and faithfully reprove (warn) and encourage one another when needed.

• We will not quit the gathering of ourselves together for worship and fellowship, nor forget to pray for ourselves and others.

• We will work hard to encourage our family and friends to seek the salvation in Christ in the nurture and caution of the Lord and by a pure and loving example.

• We will rejoice at each other’s happiness and try, with tenderness and sympathy, to bear each other’s burdens and sorrows.

• With God’s help, we will work hard to live separately from the world; denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, and remembering that there is on us a special duty now to lead a new and holy life as we have been willingly buried by baptism and raised again from the symbolic grave.

• We will continually work together for a faithful evangelical ministry in this church as we continue its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. We will give cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

• Should God move us, we will join with some other church as soon as possible where we can continue to carry out the Spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
