The Church Council
Article 5 – Officers
Section 1 – Church Council
"The Church Council shall be comprised of six members who satisfy the
qualifications
for the office of the Church Council decided and chosen by church membership.
The Church Council will include the head deacon, the associate
pastor, and four members. The council may select an at-large member if an associate
pastor is not available. A majority of the active Church Council members shall
be composed of church members not elected to any office.
Subject to the will of the membership, the Church Council shall oversee the
ministry and evangelical resources of the church. In keeping with the principles
set forth in Acts 6: 1–6 and I Peter 5: 1–4, the Church Council shall
devote their time to prayer, the ministry of the Word (by teaching and encouraging
sound doctrine), and shepherding God’s flock." |
