About Charlotte Deaf Mission

Since 1911, Charlotte's First Baptist Church has ministered to the Deaf in the Charlotte region. Programs reaching them for Christ have varied throughout the years. They ranged from a Sunday afternoon Bible Study group to a Sunday School Department, then Worship Services signed by an interpreter. In 1988, after recognizing the Deaf's unique language and culture, the church established separate services as well as special events for the Deaf.
